[H] A couple things on my mind...

Hey folks!

Happy Friday. Everett and I are competing in a jiu jitsu tournament tomorrow, so my brain is half on family life and half on getting choked by strangers. A couple other things on my mind:

1. Human Mode (Free Beta): I made a simple Gmail extension called Human Mode to help signal [H]uman-written email. It disables copy and paste while composing and prioritizes messages between people writing without AI. You can try it free today here.

2. Wordle: I'm a little late to the party on this, but do any of you play Wordle each day from the NYT? It's become a ritual every day in our home where I make my espresso, then sit down primarily with Penny (10) and Truman (8) and we work on it together. It takes like 3min but it's a really fun little tradition that has injected some play first thing in the morning.

3. Creating A Culture Of Reading: Our family is a reading family. Big time. Obviously the biggest contributor to this is that Chandler and I love to read. But I think another thing that has contributed to this is that as soon as a kid can read a chapter from a "chapter book" out loud to me, I buy them their own Kindle Paperwhite. (This just happened again this morning, thus why it's on my mind.) It's a big rite of passage in our family, and it so far has bred 100% bookworms. You can download e-books on Libby from your local library and we let our kids stay up in bed reading. Highly recommend. AMA.

That's it for today! Hope you have a great weekend!

Best,

Blake

Hey folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Stag Hunt: I heard Naval talk about this idea somewhere, and I can't stop thinking about it. It's an idea in game theory where hunters are presented with a choice: hunt for hares on their own to feed themselves, or team up together and take down a stag that can feed the whole village. I'm noticing there are a TON of my network (myself included) doing fine hunting hares consulting / doing fractional work, but I can't shake the desire to...

Hey folks! I'm on day 6 of single dad of 5 kids, and we're making it! (specifically thanks to my parents' help) A couple things on my mind... 1. OpenClaw: I promise I think about stuff other than AI, but this one's too good. OpenClaw is a free AI agent that can actually DO STUFF on your computer and browser - API directly into your social media, email, you name it. My favorite use case: twice a day it scans my inbox, sorts everything into junk, FYI, and needs-a-response, I tell it what to do,...

Hey folks! Happy Friday! We made it. A couple things on my mind... 1. Claude (Again): I said it last week and I'll say it again - if you aren't using Claude and its agentic workflows, you need to start. This week alone I: wrote a 60-page highly technical newsletter drip, made design tweaks on a website that just felt "off," and re-wrote a 7-part lead magnet sourced from Zoom calls, changing the writer and tone 3x for options. The sheer volume of work I can get through in a day right now is...
