Hey Folks, Happy Friday from Nashville! I’ve been speaking at the Integrated mastermind group all this week - absolutely amazing hearing from folks about entrepreneurship, family, faith, and how to live a life that combines and maximizes all three. Here are my main new ideas and takeaways I got from the week. Special Integrated edition, a couple of things on my mind… 1. Radically Accept Your Wife/Children: Unlike business, your family organization is one where you start with WHO, then figure out WHAT. Because of that, you have to get curious as to why God gave you this spouse, this son, this daughter. We obviously want to challenge our children to rise to their potential, but you have to start by radically accepting that these are the people you were intended to have. 2. Becoming A Safe Person To Be Close With: The biggest limiter to your relationships with your kids as you get older, is how safe you are to be in close relationship with. If you want to be safe to be in relationship with others, you need: 3. Ugly Crying In Traffic: OK this one wasn’t from the mastermind, but I got rocked by a 28-minute podcast episode this week while I was driving around Nashville. My friend Troy’s dad has ALS, and the two of them host a podcast where they interview incredible people together. (His dad was an NFL player and famous broadcaster, so they’ve reconstructed his voice using AI - absolutely incredible.) Well this latest episode was absolutely incredible - rather than interview some expert, Troy and his siblings interview their dad to have him reflect on his journey as a father and his incredible career. If you disregard everything else in this newsletter today, just listen to this podcast, it was so helpful to remind me of what matters most. That’s it for this week! Best, Blake |

Hey Folks! Happy Friday! If you're back in school my condolences to you all, we still have 3 more weeks of summer we're trying to make the most of over here. A couple things on my mind… 1. Learning Claude Code: I'm early on with this, but I'm working through Nick Saraev's 4-hour beginner course and his 3-hour advanced one, and I'll be honest, I'm still a little lost. If anyone out there is good at explaining things like I'm 4 years old, I'm all ears. Just hit reply. 2. Brainbuddy: I've...
Hey Folks! Writing this from the car on the way to the lake via hotspot. (Chandler says hi!) A couple things on my mind… 1. Career in 7 Year Cycles (New phase starting!): Does anyone else’s career seem to run in seven-year cycles? For me it was first a private hedge fund that ended up buying an entertainment company. Then seven years as CEO of Cladwell, until we sold almost exactly seven years ago. And the past seven years I’ve been a fractional CMO running Allsmith.org. Which brings me to...
Hey folks, Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind… 1. How To Work W/ AI: This is less of a tip and more of an observation / request for help. As I use AI more and more, I feel like it’s breaking the old systems for work, and I need new ones. For example, I love Pomodoro timers: set a 25min timer and try to get one task done in that time, take a 5min break, then do it again. This works great for humans, but when you’re managing several agents, you could probably spin up 3-4 tasks in that...
