A couple things on my mind... that actually made life better this week

Hey Folks!

Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind…

1. ChatGPT Atlas Browser: Anybody else using Atlas? It’s Open AI’s web browser and in my pursuit of using AI as my “operating system” it has been super helpful. It also has agentic stuff built in. For example, I can tell it to start every email in my inbox that needs a reply, then go chop wood for 10 minutes while it does that. Pretty great, give it a shot.

2. Backing Off Coffee: A couple weeks ago I started getting persistent heartburn and nausea that lasted about 10 days. After doing some research I realized a big contributor was drinking too much coffee. So, just to avoid pain, I’ve backed off to one espresso with breakfast and one after lunch. Other than that - just water. (This is a significant decrease for me… I was drinking 5-6 Americanos a day.) I know you already know this, but I’ll say it in case you need to hear it one more time - drinking less coffee is a game changer. I’ve felt more patient at home in the evenings with our kids, I’ve been more focused at work (less jumpy), and my stomach feels way better.

3. Arrange Furniture For The Job You Want: As you already know, I’m trying to live as much of my life integrated with my family as I can. I want to blur the lines between work, family, ministry, hobbies, etc. Instead of trying to balance it all, I just want to integrate it all. Recently, Chandler and I were looking at our home office and asked, why is my desk the center of this room? So we brought in two couches face to face in the center (next to the fireplace) and put my desk in the corner. Just this small change has fundamentally changed how we use my office. The kids have been in there constantly while I’m working, we’ve been playing games in there at night, and I’ve had multiple heart to hearts with my kids in that room - all from simply rearranging the furniture. I think a helpful question for every room in your house is, “what kind of life will this set up encourage?” Give it a shot.

That’s it for this week.

Best,
Blake

Hey Folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Manus: This is the first AI tool I've genuinely thought "maybe I should keep this to myself." (Credit to my friend Lucas Cole for the tip.) Like OpenClaw, Manus spins up multiple AI agents to complete compound tasks from a single goal. If this sounds confusing, this video gives a solid overview of the shift toward agents and how to work with Manus specifically. Real example: I had a weak landing page on kit.com where many of you signed...

Hey folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Stag Hunt: I heard Naval talk about this idea somewhere, and I can't stop thinking about it. It's an idea in game theory where hunters are presented with a choice: hunt for hares on their own to feed themselves, or team up together and take down a stag that can feed the whole village. I'm noticing there are a TON of my network (myself included) doing fine hunting hares consulting / doing fractional work, but I can't shake the desire to...

Hey folks! I'm on day 6 of single dad of 5 kids, and we're making it! (specifically thanks to my parents' help) A couple things on my mind... 1. OpenClaw: I promise I think about stuff other than AI, but this one's too good. OpenClaw is a free AI agent that can actually DO STUFF on your computer and browser - API directly into your social media, email, you name it. My favorite use case: twice a day it scans my inbox, sorts everything into junk, FYI, and needs-a-response, I tell it what to do,...
