A couple things on my mind... hunting stags and happy homes

Hey folks!

Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind...

1. Stag Hunt: I heard Naval talk about this idea somewhere, and I can't stop thinking about it. It's an idea in game theory where hunters are presented with a choice: hunt for hares on their own to feed themselves, or team up together and take down a stag that can feed the whole village. I'm noticing there are a TON of my network (myself included) doing fine hunting hares consulting / doing fractional work, but I can't shake the desire to find a stag to try to take down together - something bigger than any one of us could do on our own. I'm on the hunt, so if you know of something big like that, I'm down to talk.

2. To Be Happy At Home: What a great quote sourced in the James Clear newsletter this week:

"To be happy at home is the end of all human endeavor. The sun looks down on nothing half so good as a household laughing together over a meal, or two friends talking over a pint of beer, or a person alone reading a book that interests them; and all economics, politics, laws, armies, and institutions, are only valuable in so far as they prolong and multiply such scenes."
Source: The Weight of Glory (edited lightly for clarity)

The last part about institutions is what resonated with me the most. My desire is that anything I produce it can be said that it helped households thrive.

3. Game Theory For Kids: Has anyone watched Beast Games season 1 on Prime with their family? It is a masterclass on game theory. While Chandler was out of town we watched the entirety of season 1 in a week (don't judge me.) It was so fascinating to see how my kids analyzed people's strategies - and I think they genuinely learned some things about cooperation, tit for tat, and other concepts in game theory. It also directly highlighted and promoted kindness for kindness sake, which is awesome. We started Season 2 this week and it seems to be more physical than strategic, so I'll hold my recommendation for now, but season 1 was excellent.

That's it for this week! Hope you get outside and turn off your phone!

Best,

Blake

P.S. Last week I talked about OpenClaw and I got a bunch of concerned responses re: security. This is my general caveat that if you're new to AI stick with Claude or ChatGPT or Perplexity - there are genuine security concerns with OpenClaw, and I got a bunch of responses that were both hilarious and concerning.

Hey folks! I'm on day 6 of single dad of 5 kids, and we're making it! (specifically thanks to my parents' help) A couple things on my mind... 1. OpenClaw: I promise I think about stuff other than AI, but this one's too good. OpenClaw is a free AI agent that can actually DO STUFF on your computer and browser - API directly into your social media, email, you name it. My favorite use case: twice a day it scans my inbox, sorts everything into junk, FYI, and needs-a-response, I tell it what to do,...

Hey folks! Happy Friday! We made it. A couple things on my mind... 1. Claude (Again): I said it last week and I'll say it again - if you aren't using Claude and its agentic workflows, you need to start. This week alone I: wrote a 60-page highly technical newsletter drip, made design tweaks on a website that just felt "off," and re-wrote a 7-part lead magnet sourced from Zoom calls, changing the writer and tone 3x for options. The sheer volume of work I can get through in a day right now is...

Hey folks! Hope your week is going well! A couple things on my mind... 1. Claude Is Winning: About every other month or so I'll try out Gemini, Grok, and Claude to see if they can dethrone the primary use of ChatGPT. Just did it again this week and wow. Claude is winning - like no competition. Specifically the writing style emulation and deep analysis combination has got me over the edge to become my default for marketing work. Also, their new ad campaign is so good - latching onto one key...
