A couple things on my mind...

Hey Folks!

Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind...

1. AI Onboarding / Pod Pitch: I just signed up for Pod Pitch (no affiliate) last week for a client and was seriously blown away at their onboarding experience. They were doing all the normal stuff well - discovery call, onboarding call, etc... but what I was super impressed by was how they integrated AI into the onboarding. For instance, rather than have me fill out info about my client, they just pulled his LinkedIn automatically and created a bio. They had me *dictate* outloud about our goals, then they made a transcript and turned it into bullets. I'm feeling optimistic (still early) about the software itself, but I feel like this was a 10/10 in terms of how to leverage AI to make the customer experience better. AMA.

2. Coffee Beans Actually Kind Of Matter: Chandler and I have an espresso machine, and the past year as we tried to budget more tightly we downgraded to like grocery store /Walmart/ Amazon beans. Its been fine, but last week I bought some locally roasted beans that are more premium, and *holy cow*. It's like a different thing. The crema on the top is like super thick, it tastes way better, it's like one of those things where you spend 25% more and get 2x the quality. I don't feel that way about a lot of purchases, so worth noting. These folks are local but deliver everywhere and significantly more affordable than most high-quality roasters.

3. Proverbs To Start The Day: I take a kid to work with me most days during the week, and I have recently started kicking off the work/school day with them by reading the chapter of the book of Proverbs that matches to the day of the month. (e.g. today we read Proverbs 17) We read it outloud alternating every 5 verses, then I asked Penny if she had questions or if anything jumped out at her. Then I point at 2-3 that really resonated with me today or that I had a good story around. Super sustainable, and I figure if I do this every day for the next 50 years I'll be one of those old guys who just constantly speaks in Proverbs which would be sick. AMA

That's it for today! Have a great weekend!

Best,

Blake

Hey Folks! Happy Friday! You doin good? If we haven't met feel free to reply and say "hey." A couple things on my mind... 1. Marketing Calendar vs. Weekly Growth Meetings: I’ve been fractionally leading marketing for about 6 years, and my core thesis has always been to operate on a 7-day cycle where early growth is measured week by week. The issue is that this weekly lens leaves out marketing-calendar moments like Black Friday or big launches, so I’d drop reminders into our weekly sheet but...

Hey folks! Happy Friday! Today the electrician’s at our house finishing the wiring for our new sauna, and I’m giddy. Everett and I spent 12+ hours this week assembling it, and with snow in the forecast next week, we’re hoping it’s ready today. It’s a 10-man sauna, so if you want to swing by for a session, let me know. A couple things on my mind… 1. Stop Treating Your Work Like a Stepping Stone: I heard this great quote from James Clear this week: “When you stop treating your current...

Hey folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Every Platform Has It's Own "Speed": I heard this concept in a Kallaway video recently: it's that every digital platform: email, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, blogs - has a distinct pace for how people consume content. If you’re scrolling Instagram and a 35-minute YouTube video appears, you’ll skip it. You’re not in that mode. Everybody keeps ignoring this constantly and keeps trying to move people off platform (“Watch the full...
