Hey folks! About to head out tent camping with the whole fam this weekend! Wish us luck - first time as a family of 9! A couple things on my mind... 1. Superhuman Product x Market Fit (PMF) Survey: I've been doing this survey for clients lately and I just can't speak highlly enough about how much clarity it gives you. The core question is simple: “If [your company] no longer existed, how disappointed would you be? Very, somewhat, or not disappointed?” From there, you can get 4 main insights: a. If more than 40% answer “very,” you’ve got PMF. Pretty straightforward.
b. Break responses down by customer type until you find the group where PMF shows up.
c. Ask the “very disappointed” group what they value most, then spend 50% of your product development going deeper on that.
d. For the group where you have PMF but who answered “somewhat,” ask what they’d change - then spend the other 50% of your time on those fixes.
If you want details on the process, just ask. And if you’d like help running this, I’ve got it down to a science. This - combined with pricing surveys - can make a huge difference for companies of any size. If you're interested in working w/ me at some point, this is a great place to start! AMA. 2. Productive Places: A friend reminded me of this trick this week, and I’ve been testing it out. If your work lets you move around, pick certain spots for certain tasks. That way, when you sit in that chair or walk into that coffee shop, your brain already knows what it’s there to do. It cuts down on the mental switching and keeps you focused. 3. Big 5 Personality Convo w/ Kids: I had a great convo w/ my 11yo daughter Charleston this week that ended up being really fun. Have you heard of the big 5 personality test? It's the most science-backed model for what makes a personality. (Like Enneagram or Myers Briggs but real. jk jk) I told Charleston about it and asked her how she'd score herself 0-100 on the following:
It was so interesting hearing how she perceives herself compared to others, and she got curious on how she and I are the same or different. It just was a fun exploratory conversation that I think. you can do as young as maybe 6/7? Give it a shot. That's it for this week! Have a great one! Best, Blake |

Hey Folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Manus: This is the first AI tool I've genuinely thought "maybe I should keep this to myself." (Credit to my friend Lucas Cole for the tip.) Like OpenClaw, Manus spins up multiple AI agents to complete compound tasks from a single goal. If this sounds confusing, this video gives a solid overview of the shift toward agents and how to work with Manus specifically. Real example: I had a weak landing page on kit.com where many of you signed...
Hey folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Stag Hunt: I heard Naval talk about this idea somewhere, and I can't stop thinking about it. It's an idea in game theory where hunters are presented with a choice: hunt for hares on their own to feed themselves, or team up together and take down a stag that can feed the whole village. I'm noticing there are a TON of my network (myself included) doing fine hunting hares consulting / doing fractional work, but I can't shake the desire to...
Hey folks! I'm on day 6 of single dad of 5 kids, and we're making it! (specifically thanks to my parents' help) A couple things on my mind... 1. OpenClaw: I promise I think about stuff other than AI, but this one's too good. OpenClaw is a free AI agent that can actually DO STUFF on your computer and browser - API directly into your social media, email, you name it. My favorite use case: twice a day it scans my inbox, sorts everything into junk, FYI, and needs-a-response, I tell it what to do,...
