Hey folks! Happy Friday! Today the electrician’s at our house finishing the wiring for our new sauna, and I’m giddy. Everett and I spent 12+ hours this week assembling it, and with snow in the forecast next week, we’re hoping it’s ready today. It’s a 10-man sauna, so if you want to swing by for a session, let me know. A couple things on my mind… 1. Stop Treating Your Work Like a Stepping Stone: I heard this great quote from James Clear this week: “When you stop treating your current opportunity as a stepping stone to something else and start treating it as the only one that matters, opportunity finds you.” In doing marketing consulting and fractional CMO work, I’ve often viewed the work as a temporary bridge to the next “big thing.” But this year I’ve seen that the more I’ve leaned into doing my absolute best right where I am, the more new opportunities have opened up. Try it. Instead of dreaming about what’s next, focus on what’s here now and see what opens up. 2. 3x5 Notebook for Tasks: I saw an Instagram reel a few months back that said if you struggle with focus or have ADHD tendencies (which is everyone now thanks to modern media), the best weapon you can carry is a 3x5 notebook where you record every task you commit to. It needs to be non-digital, fit in your pocket, and go everywhere with you. I’ve been doing it for 2–3 months now, and it really is superior to any digital system I’ve tried - and I’ve tried all of them. Highly recommend. 3. How to Polarize Your Marriage and Restore Attraction: A couple months ago I gave this talk (on my new Youtube channel, feel free to sub!) at the Integrated mastermind about how to re-polarize your marriage and restore attraction. It builds on some ideas I’ve shared before about the father’s role as protector but zooms out to what really makes a marriage come alive. When we each lean into our God-given poles of masculinity and femininity, marriage becomes more functional, more fun, and more alive. When we lose that polarity, we start operating like bland roommates at best - or bitter, resentful rivals at worst. This talk digs into what that drift looks like, how it happens, and how to rebuild it. It’s a bit vulnerable for me to share publicly, but it hit home for a lot of people. If you watch it and something rubs you the wrong way - or makes you think - I’d love to hear from you. (And if you’re interested in that mastermind for Fathers x Entrepreneurs x Christians where I gave the talk, I can get you more info.) I think that’s it for this week! Best, Blake P.S. A few folks have asked for an update on my forthcoming book: The Family Framework: Essential Habits to Create Order, Joy, and Deep Connection at Home. As I’ve mentioned, I got picked up by Revell / Baker Publishing Group, and they’re selling it into bookstores now with a release date of September 2026. That’s the update. Books take forever. AMA. |

Hey Folks! Happy Friday! You doin good? If we haven't met feel free to reply and say "hey." A couple things on my mind... 1. Marketing Calendar vs. Weekly Growth Meetings: I’ve been fractionally leading marketing for about 6 years, and my core thesis has always been to operate on a 7-day cycle where early growth is measured week by week. The issue is that this weekly lens leaves out marketing-calendar moments like Black Friday or big launches, so I’d drop reminders into our weekly sheet but...
Hey folks! Happy Friday! A couple things on my mind... 1. Every Platform Has It's Own "Speed": I heard this concept in a Kallaway video recently: it's that every digital platform: email, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, blogs - has a distinct pace for how people consume content. If you’re scrolling Instagram and a 35-minute YouTube video appears, you’ll skip it. You’re not in that mode. Everybody keeps ignoring this constantly and keeps trying to move people off platform (“Watch the full...
Hey folks! Happy Friday! I'm writing this a day early because Chandler and I have our last quarterly offsite of 2025 tomorrow morning (3 weeks late...) A couple things on my mind... 1. Science Of Scaling: Anybody ever read The Science of Scaling by Dr. Benjamin Hardy? I read it this week and absolutely loved it. The main idea is that for any organization to really focus, you need to create a BIG goal, and then shorten the timeline to borderline ridiculous - that will create organizational...
